Background

Students had to design a product/solution using recyclable material or junk to address a specific need. The products completed varied from clothing to sculptures. The student whose work is represented here chose to design and create a photo frame.
Students had one 60-minute period of technology a week for seven weeks to work on their project. Students could also complete part of the project at home. Throughout the project, they had individual access to the Internet and the library.
Note: The student’s design folder is not represented in its entirety. Relevant extracts from each of the five stages of the design cycle were selected to provide evidence of the way the assessment criteria have been applied.
